With so much good food to be thankful for and the chance to soak up the Ramadan spirit, a trip to any bazaar is a must during the blessed month! Luckily for us, there are so many bazaars to choose from in Singapore, and there is also a wide range of interesting cuisines, including both traditional and hipster food. Ramadan Bazaars in Singapore Plus Highlights of Each One!
Grand bazaars (throughout Ramadan):
1. Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar (May 3 - June 5)
Of course, no bazaar list would be complete without including Singapore's biggest Ramadan bazaar - Geylang Serai! With a lot of hype about this year's bazaar with more traditional stalls, the HHWT team went down to check it out for themselves.

This year's bazaar seems to offer a more balanced mix of hipster and traditional food. For those excited to see what's new, visit Charkoi (WGS G294) for their selection of Chinese youtiao (fried dough - $4 to $6.50) with Nutella, cheese chicken floss, rendang and more? We also liked Fooditude's Chili Crab Praffles (prata waffles - from $8.90), Boba Tea-Infused Pancakes from Alley ($9.90) and Milk Bro's Signature Taiwan Flaming Boba Milk with Cream Mousse ($5.90).
But if you're old school at heart, enjoy the array of traditional foods that will bring back memories of the good old days. We enjoyed Ranor's otak-otak (WGS A 344) (5 for $3) which was delicious and came in generous portions. The stall even had other varieties of grilled fish meat like pepes and satar ikan. The usual suspects like Ayam Percik (grilled chicken marinated in spices), dendeng (grilled meat) and apam balik (turnover pancake) are also spread throughout the bazaar, so make sure you try them?
In addition, this year's bazaar has a more family-friendly atmosphere with plenty of seating and more spacious aisles. 2. Ramadan Sultan Bazaar (May 4 - June 2)
Although much smaller in scale than Geylang Bazaar, Ramadan Sultan Bazaar (a section outside Masjid Sultan) is filled with a wide variety of food.
A returning favorite is T-Bob's Corner with their Texas BBQ Smoked Brisket, Beef Ribs and Pulled Lamb Burger - perfect if you fancy some hearty meat for iftar?
Some newcomers this year are Eid Mubarak Feast, which sells a variety of sandwiches and wraps. Try their katsu cutlet sandwich which is around $8 and they also have Wagyu wraps which are 2 for $10. Please note that you must arrive before 15 to get them as they are very popular! Other new things you can expect are mala noodles and hotpot from Xiao Man Niu Mala Hotpot and Tuk Tuk Cha, which just got halal certification this year. Whether you're looking for their refreshing Thai milk tea or their golden toast, you can get them here!
Apart from that, don't miss traditional Malaysian and Indian dishes like lemang (sticky rice cooked on bamboo sticks), Nasi Ambeng and Briyani. Looking for a dessert to cover your iftar? Washing down your meal with some mouth-watering cendol from Cendol Geylang Serai?

3. North Bazaar (May 3 - June 1), Woodlands
One of the popular bazaars for North Sides every year, Bazaar Raya Utara is back with more exciting offers this year! Looking for a twist on a popular Malaysian dish, satay? Go to The Original Pisang Keju and try Satay Keju (cheese satay).

Who knew that the tender meat of satay would pair so well with the cheese AND the sweetness of the peanut sauce? A tip is to get your hands on it quickly as it usually sells out early!
Another twist on a traditional favorite is Joni's roti john (mince and egg on a baguette). Instead of using ground beef as the main ingredient, Joni uses tenderloin and its roti john is topped with delicious sauces like honey barbecue, sour cream and nacho cheese? Another hot favorite at this bazaar is the takoyaki from Topping de Cuppies - with generous amounts of filling, sauce and bonito flakes, this takoyaki is so rich in flavour!

If you want to end your meal with a delicious dessert, look no further than Cake Love, which specializes in Dutch baby pancakes called poffertjes. Try different flavors like smores, nutella, ondeh-ondeh and more for a sweet finish to your iftar. Then wash it all down with PlanB's decadent smoothies - quench your thirst with the D24 Durian™ Smoothie, Cendol Smoothie or Mango & Strawberry Smoothie.
The great thing about Woodlands Bazaar is that you can find many of the popular Geylang Bazaar stalls here such as Milk Bro, Beef Bro, Broti, Markozar, Perghh Corndog, Rumi The Poet's Cup and Chix Monster Halal Flaming Chicken. So if you're too lazy to head east and don't want to brave the crowds, we recommend heading to Woodlands Bazaar!

4. Vintage Ramadan Bazaar @ Kampong Punggol (3. maj - 3. juni)
While we see many fusion dishes at other bazaars, the items at the Vintage Ramadan Bazaar in Punggolare are more traditional. With a small number of benches confined to a small court, the atmosphere here is quite relaxed. Also is it close to Punggol Waterway and away from HDB flatstoo?

One of the starters here is Laksa Ketam (crab laksa). Believe it or not, you'll be enjoying a whole crab with a delicious laksa sauce - priced between $12 and $15, it's definitely value for money and will fill you up for iftar.
Apart from that, you can also expect a whole range of authentic Malaysian dishes to take away and eat with rice or get your fill of Ayam Percik where you can watch the stall vendor roast and cook the chicken. Don't miss other delicacies like roti kirai (net bread) and popiah basah (wet spring rolls)!
If you're looking for something different, head to Redz Kitchen to try the Halal Beef Bak Kut Teh with Rice ($8). The broth is simmered with spices and beef and has a slightly peppery flavor without being overpowering. We couldn't help but keep smelling the broth as it was so delicious and not to mention the plate is also generous with the beef cuts! Redz also sells Thai Beef Soup ($6) and Rojak Petis ($5) among other foods.
Don't forget here also a wide range of Malaysian kuih and traditional desserts. Fill up on authentic kuih like pisang goreng, putri salad, epok-epok and more. A traditional dessert you can expect here is Acong's Cendol Santan Sawit, which was a hot favorite at last year's bazaar.

5. Hari Raya Bazaar 2019, Our Tampines Hub (3. maj - 2. juni)
The Hari Raya Bazaar at Our Tampines Hub (OTH) has been serving residents for a few years now and this year is no exception. One of the new additions to the bazaar is the junction of 2 stalls - Yok Lok Lok and Beef Up.

For the uninitiated,Beef Up is a halal restaurant in Toa Payohthey serve authentic Taiwanese cuisine and give you a taste of their XXL Chicken Cutlet ($5), a famous Taiwanese delicacy! Pair it with tasty sweet potato fries for a complete meal? Yok Lok Lok sells lok-lok, a popular street dish in Penang, Malacca and Kuching, Malaysia. It consists of various fried meats and vegetables served on skewers. You can choose the products you prefer and the stall sellers will prepare it for you!

But for those of you looking for something nostalgic, head to ZR for their specialty Putu Bambu. If you are familiar with putu piring, this is actually the same but steamed in bamboo instead! This was a favorite at the bazaars many years ago.

If you want something more filling, we suggest you go to Pak Din Nasi Ayam Bakar and enjoy their grilled chicken rice. This hot favorite from Geylang Serai Market keeps customers coming back for more, with some saying it's the best fried chicken they've ever tasted!
Apart from these tasty offerings, you can also look forward to the typical bazaar items like vadai, putu piring, takoyaki, popiah basah, briyani and many more.

Mini bazaars (throughout Ramadan)
Apart from the big bazaars around Singapore, there are a number of mini bazaars mostly held on the empty decks of HDB flats. Most of them only have about 10-15 stalls, but you will be surprised by the variety of food you will find in these mini bazaars.
6. Blk 863, Tampines St 83
The bazaar at Blk 863 served Tampines residents even before the establishment of OTH. If you're looking for a fusion of Mexican and Malaysian flavors, head to No Pat No Pit for their tempting burritos.

Choose from Mutton Satay Burrito ($7), Cheesy Chicken Burrito ($5) and Cheesy Chicken Burrito with Egg ($6). Their meat is marinated overnight and then grilled to perfection so you know you like it? Their Jamah sets are also bestsellers - potato wedges, lamb satay, chicken burrito, cheese and sauces come together for a hearty meal.

Here you can also get your usual items such as Malay lauk (plates), Malay kuih Ramly burger and Nasi Ambeng. If you're looking for desserts, be sure to stop by Crust and Crumbs and treat yourself to their mini cakes and cookies. But if you want something refreshing, don't hesitate to get the traditional Cendol Melaka that will surely leave you satisfied!

7. Blk 301, Tampines St 32
Another bargain in Tampines? We're not kidding! Blk 301 is another hot spot for residents of Tabin to buy goodies for their iftar. Besides the selection of Malaysian lauk and kuih, here you can find the famous Satay Solo from Bedok Corner, which is known for its juicy and well-marinated satay.

Want something sweet for your iftar meal? Head to Intrend Kitchen for their Nutella filled donut (5 for $5) or get your own churro. But if you prefer some traditional munchies, would cekodok (fried banana balls) be just what you need?

If you fancy a cold sweet drink but want to save it for after the Terawih prayer, Kaki Lepak's drinks would be perfect. Their signature butterbeer (non-alcoholic) is a must try! The best part is that it comes in a bottle so you can keep it to drink later in the evening. There is a sign on the bottle that says "Extremely Addictive" so maybe you just want more than 1 of these? They also have a selection of other drinks such as Kathira, Bandung and more.

8. Jurong West Bazaar Ramadan 2019 (6. maj - 2. juni)

Don't worry, Westerners, we haven't left you out! Located at Blk 422 in Jurong West, this mini bazaar has been attracting crowds every Ramadan for many years.

One of the highlights of the bazaar this year is the martabak manis Terang Bulan stall. With only one store in the East and selected delivery locations in Singapore, those in the West can now get a taste of this delicious Indonesian pancake. Get Pizza Terbul, where you can enjoy all their fantastic flavors in one - from banana nutella (nutnana) to nutella peanut (nutnana) and nutella oreo (Nut O). Nasi Ayam Geprek (from Sotong Brothers) is also on the menu!

For those who love to have some Malaysian kuih when they break their fast, you will love Gerai Kak Rehan! The range of Malaysian kuih at this stall is wide - from sweet to savory. Get your hands on some ondeh ondeh, kuih keria (Malaysian doughnuts), kuih tako (coconut jelly dessert), kuih lapis and more? In addition, a wide range of packaged foods that you can also eat for iftar.

This isn't a mini coup per se, but we just had to include it in this list for all you kuih lovers out there! Tucked away in a neighborhood mall called Junction 9 in Yishun, Kuihzania is a makeshift stall with a wide variety of traditional Malaysian kuih and desserts?

The good thing is that the items are also really affordable at only $2 each. If you get 3 of them, you only pay $5 and you can mix and match all your favorite kuih!

9. Ramadan Bazaar @ Tampines West CC (9-12 hours ago)
Organized in part by the famous food delivery service Kassim Baba, known for its KB Live Fest events, you can expect more than just food here. There will be hijab, cosmetics and clothing stores so you can shop Raya too!

If you're in the mood for something for iftar, we'd recommend heading straight to Yummy Takoyaki, known for its huge takoyaki sizes. Not to mention that there is a good balance between flour and meat/squid that makes it so flavorful. Are they really generous with sauces and bonito flakes? If you fancy something a little different, we recommend getting a soft-shell mandu crab and other delicacies from The Outslider.

Need a refreshing drink? We know only one drink that will cool you down - Air Jagung Ketagih. The name of the drink refers to "Highly Addictive Corn Milk Tea" and is an interesting twist on your usual milk tea. The drink has received rave reviews for its creamy and rich taste, so it's a must-try!
For those of you looking for some great Malaysian delicacies, will you be pleased to know that the famous Haig Road Putu Piring will also set up shop here?

10. Laloolalang Raya Bazaar, Malay Heritage Center (16.-19. maj)
Back to their annual ragia bazaar, this year Laloolalang has a nostalgic theme – celebrating 1960s Malay music called “pop yeh yeh”. So you can expect not only food, but also stalls selling the most necessary and special performances.

Or maybe you could get your satay fix from Satayboy. If you always find it difficult to eat satay with chopsticks, you would love their satay bowls. A bowl consists of satay meat, ketupat, cucumbers, onions and topped with satay sauce, making it a hearty meal?
For other tasty treats, we recommend you visit Yummy Takoyaki, The Original Pisang Keju for their delicious cheese fried bananas, and GomGomSG for unique and innovative subs!

11. CelebFest Ramadhan 2019, Suntec Convention Center (17.-19. maj)
Held occasionally every few months, CelebFest returns this Ramadan and is bigger than ever. You can expect around 200 stalls spread over 3 meeting rooms. In addition, around 70 celebrities from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia will appear.

On the food front, one of the stalls to look forward to is Street Submarine, which was the first restaurant in Singapore to serve the viral dessert, Milo Ice Kepal. This rich dessert consists of thick milo mixture on the bottom, shaved ice and milo powder on top. Otherwise, you can always bite into their mouth-watering hot dog subs with mouth-watering flavors such as Chilli Rendang, Beef Satay, BBQ Pulled Beef and more.

If your palate is craving something cheesy, head over to Naughty Boyz for some mac and cheese goodness! Then wash your meal down with BOO:EH's creamy butterbeer (non-alcoholic)?

12. Mega Raya Expo 2019, Singapore Expo (23.-26. maj)
Held annually at the Singapore Expo, Mega Raya Expo 2019 will feature more than 100 stalls and you can look forward to a variety of food and drinks, from traditional to more fusion food. Will there also be Raya clothing stalls so you can find the Raya outfit that suits you best?

13. The Grand Souq, Singapore Expo (31. maj - 2. juni)
Formerly known as The Grand Bazaar, The Grand Souq has nearly 300 stalls ranging from food and drink to Raya kuih, clothes and decorations for your last minute Raya shopping!

Not much has been released yet for this year's event, but stay tunedtheir Instagram page. But last year's event had popular restaurants like Yummy Takoyaki, Word Cafe, Naughty Boyz, The Original Pisang Keju, Chulop, BOO:EH, so let's hope it will be like this year? What is different about The Grand Souq is that you can attend spiritual exchange sessions by various Ustaz and Ustaza or watch live performances by religious groups. There will even be mass prayer sessions to make the most of this holy month.
